Hi! I’m Mika, Gilad’s wife, partner-in-adventure, baby-momma and biggest fan. I’m here at Outdoors Father as the resident editor, background support, and female viewpoint.

Unlike Gilad, I was born, raised and have always lived in cities. When I met Gilad I had less than zero interest in the outdoors. But over the years, his love of outdoor adventures has infected me also and we have had some of our best times trekking, climbing, hiking, camping and just enjoying being outside. As Gilad has mentioned, we even spent our honeymoon climbing the Alps! That’s true love, folks.

My outdoor experience started with us doing all these activities as a couple, and we refined our gear list over the years for various conditions. And then we had a baby. So no more ultralight for us! But getting outside as a family, with a baby, is a great adventure (albeit a heavier one) – our daughter loves the outdoors, and it is precious to see her experience fields and and cows and cliffs and tents and all that stuff for the first time.
